As a forward thinking company, Cascade Designs is only too aware of the need to maximise the efficiency of its production processes – it’s a policy which has taken them to the top of the outdoor and sporting goods market and kept them there for over 30 years.
In this extremely competitive market, staff had been running a continuous improvement program, entering production data into a combination of excel spreadsheets and using these to create weekly and monthly OEE charts. There was no shortage of data but transforming it into meaningful management reports was both complex and time consuming, involving a number of operators and managers. In order to maintain its position as market leader, the company took the decision to purchase a solution specifically to process and manage production data and provide OEE and other efficiency reports.
Gemba Solutions’ GAIN4 Efficiency software was selected due to its ease of use and strong reporting function. Cascade chose to use the software via Gemba’s “Software as a Service”, hosted delivery mechanism, seeing it as an ideal entry level solution with potential to expand at a later date.
