Gemba helps Gripple increase OEE by 20%
The “Gripple” product is recognised as the world’s most innovative way of joining, tensioning, terminating and suspending wire and wire rope. As a company, Gripple has an ingrained culture of quality and continuous improvement, and its fanatical focus on these issues has helped it to become recognised as a World Class company, winning the Queens Award for Enterprise and the Prince of Wales Award for Innovation.
Gemba Solutions has been working with Gripple since 2005, and has supplied them with software and services to support their success in improving production efficiency. Gripple’s Director of Engineering, John Joyce, feels that Gemba’s software plays a significant part in helping Gripple to drive improvements in their production processes; “Using OEE IMPACT, with its automated data collection, enables us to rapidly identify key production bottlenecks and take action to remove them, which has so far resulted in a 20% improvement in OEE” commented John. “The software makes it easy to spot problem areas quickly, and it offers huge value in ensuring that key decisions are taken based on factual data.”
“Gripple’s continuing success at a time of economic recession demonstrates that the Company’s approach to business and its dedication to constantly finding better ways of doing things has given them a real competitive advantage that has helped to make them recession-proof”, commented Gemba Solutions MD, Richard Oakden. “It proves that our products can provide real benefit in these difficult times”.
